01 · The movement
Your chart starts from where the planets actually were.
We compute your chart with the Swiss Ephemeris, the calculation standard professional astrologers rely on, built on NASA JPL’s planetary data. It gives the exact position of every planet, house, and angle for your birth moment, down to a fraction of an arc-second. Your whole chart comes from real planetary positions, calculated the same way every time.
02 · The meaning
Each placement is matched to its established meaning.
What it means that your Moon sits in Aquarius, that Saturn squares your Mars, that a run of planets gathers in one house: this is astrological craft, held in fixed rules and tables and sharpened over centuries. Before a reading is written, the engine looks up the established meaning of every placement, house, and aspect in your chart and assembles it into a structured read. That lookup is deterministic: the same chart always yields the same set of meanings. Those are the raw materials the AI is handed.
03 · The story
Then AI weaves every nuance into one reading made specifically and only for you.
A chart holds far more at once than any single reading could spell out, and the nuance lives in how it all interacts. This is where AI earns its place. It takes that structured read, your placements, your aspects, and the transits moving against your chart right now, weighs what matters most for you, and composes it into one clear, cohesive story. It works only from the placements and meanings it is handed, and every reading is checked against your real chart, so it cannot invent one. What it adds is the reach to hold all of it at once and tell it back to you in language written for the one person it is about.
An example
Saturn reaches a square to your Sun.
As Saturn travels the sky, it swings into a right angle to the spot your Sun held at birth. That geometry has a name, a Saturn square Sun transit, and each piece of it carries settled meaning: what a square does (friction that forces growth), what Saturn brings (limits, time, responsibility), and the area of life it lands in. The engine assembles those pieces, notes how exact the angle is, and hands the AI a structured brief. The AI composes how it is landing for you now, against the rest of your chart. It never decides what a square or Saturn means; it is given those.
The tradition
This is Western astrology.
Nocturne reads in the Western tradition, on the tropical zodiac: the twelve signs anchored to the seasons and the equinox, the Sun, Moon, and planets, the twelve houses, and the aspects between them. It is the astrology most people in the West grew up with, the language of the birth chart and the daily horoscope. It is a different system from Vedic (sidereal) or Chinese astrology, each of which reads the sky by its own rules. When we say your Sun is in Gemini or your Moon in Aquarius, we mean it in this tradition.
